TESTIMONIALS
“Enjoying a stunning location on a hill with far reaching views of the vast Lipadi game reserve and the Limpopo River, Lipadi Hills Private Safari Lodge is different from any other top luxury lodge I have been fortunate to visit. Staying at Lipadi Hills feels like being a guest at a private home with unprecedented levels of comfort and privacy. Being an exclusive guest allows to fully appreciate the deep magical silence of the surrounding bush.
At the same time, thanks to the meticulous attention to detail by its Scandinavian owners, there is no lack of luxury holiday comforts such as most comfortable beds, strong water pressure in the showers, luxuriously soft towels, magnificent warm swimming pool, top notch gym equipment, fast internet and, last but not least, delicious coffee!
Two things stood out most for me though: the knowledge, expertise and friendliness of Joseph who is the dedicated safari guide: Joseph helped me understand the bush and all its inhabitants; the culinary skills and masterful delivery by Chanda who is the Lodge Manager and Chef. Just because of Joseph and Chanda, their smiles throughout the day and willingness to help, I fell in love with Botswana! I would very highly recommend staying at the lodge for no less than 6 nights: it was only on my last night that I managed to see the lions!
Getting a helicopter with a highly qualified local pilot for the trip (the Owners have all the details) not only made the transfer easy and very scenic, but also allowed unsurpassed animal viewing from the air.”

“It is clear that the owners are passionate about their 'home-away’ in Botswana and it was a privilege to stay in such a beautiful purpose-built property. Lipadi Hills offers the facilities and exclusivity of a private lodge without any of the fuss (dare I say, pretention?) of some of the high-end commercial safari lodges. The home-cooked meals and down-to earth warmth and hospitality of Chanda and her team makes this place very special indeed.
The wildlife was abundant and our guide Joseph was great company and very knowledgeable. While not our first African safari trip, the ability to get so close to the animals, including a herd of elephants with young calves was incredible. We saw warthog, impala, klipspringer, zebra, kudu, southern white rhino, giraffe, brown hyena and Joseph even granted our wish to see leopards and a huge pack of African wild dogs during our stay!”

“Lipadi Hills is very complete and a marvellous experience in every respect. We travelled Ethiopian Airways via Addis but could easily have come via Johannesburg - travelling was painless. On arrival, we were greeted by Chanda and her team at the lodge. The rooms are very private, generous in size with wonderful uninterrupted views over Botswana bush stretching out before you. We were taken on ‘game drives’ in a brilliantly converted open-sided Land Cruiser.
Joseph, the chief game scout, drove very well no jolts or shudders just smooth, dust-free quiet progress along a multiplicity of sand tracks to progressively reveal fabulous game of just about every type. The blessing was no other vehicles - when we found game no rushed calls to summon 20 other vehicles to the scene - just quiet observation, on our own, of game doing what game does. We peacefully watched rhino, kudu (a special pleasure for me - such elegant striped antelope), zebra, impala, warthog, bushbuck, giraffe and two young male lions. The main breeding herd of elephants had a very encouraging number of young and very young. We also saw two groups of young male elephants separately.
The richness of bird life is astounding from bee-eaters through hornbills and massive fish eagles and snake eagles and vultures - a hugely rich variety of species. The game drives were punctuated with stops for coffee, picnics and delightful evening ‘sundowners’ - all so well and effortlessly organised.
On return to the lodge a delightful infinity swimming pool, cocktails and delicious dinner awaits - all looking down to a much frequented waterhole in the valley below. Much talk of the game drives takes place and finally the sanctuary of one’s luxurious room awaits. Lipadi Hills is, in our experience (and I was born and bred in East Africa) unparalleled in its excellence.”

“Travelling with children all the way from Sweden to Botswana is quite a journey, but it was absolutely worth the effort. Where to start? Stunning views, sunsets, and always something to see at the perfectly located water hole!
Coming to Lipadi Hills is like coming home. The casual luxury of every little detail is tasteful, balanced and well done. All the nice spots around the lodge, including the wonderful yoga deck and the fireplace to have drinks before dinner...and the food was amazing!
And not to mention the team! How they took care of us and our children. How they spoiled us without taking away the feeling of being “home”. It took a couple of days to leave our hectic life behind and totally relax, but it says a lot about Lipadi and the team that all five of us fell in love. The kids said it was their best vacation ever and we couldn’t agree more!
Incredible game drives with our guide Joe – the excitement of driving slowly between the bushes and trees, and suddenly stop to see an elephant, a lion or pack of wild dogs just 20 meters away! Joe not only made us feel safe, but he also educated us, and was creative when the kids wanted to try fishing or have breakfast in the bush.
Congratulations on managing to balance all the details so perfectly and creating a dream getaway!
We will definitely be back!”

“During my first visit to Botswana, I visited Lipadi Hills Private Safari Lodge. We were welcomed by a super-friendly and hospitable staff, led by Chanda. The lodge itself has everything that one could wish for to spend a relaxed safari vacation with a very luxurious touch and feel. The view from the lodge, including from the four guest rooms, is utterly beautiful!
As a keen photographer, I very much valued the knowledge and storytelling of Joseph, our expert safari guide and driver. Joseph did a great job in tracking and locating the wide variety and abundance of not only game, but also trees, flowers and insects, as well as in placing the vehicle for the very best photo opportunities. The drives are conducted in an entirely open (with a roof for shade) safari-converted Toyota Land Cruiser that further enhances the viewing experience with the addition of the beautiful smells and sounds. Other vehicles were almost non-existent during our drives which added to the uniqueness of the experience. Stopping for morning coffee and a sun downer was a given every day. I will definitely come back!”
